Deep South Party: POP! Baby Shower Part 2

Up next...the food!

Your brain can really go crazy when you start dreaming up all the fun shower foods. Fortunately, the pop theme really limited things in a positive way. It leaned more towards snacky foods which is all that is really needed for a shower in the afternoon (I mean we know everyone has already had lunch, right?).

There are all kids of awesome things you could do...popcorn, poptarts, rice krispy treats, cake pops, pop rocks, lollipops, popovers, and so on.

We went with popcorn, an assortment of "pop" candy (which how fun is it watching the older church women put pop rocks on their plate), a beautiful fruit tray (not pictured), and the most precious balloon cupcakes.

We ordered popcorn from Candy Corns in Dallas. Recently I found this website which would be a fantastic resource if you were to be throwing a Pop! shower too. Check out Popcorn Haven.

Our selection was: Cherry, Blueberry, Green Apple, Cheddar and Jalapeno Ranch. They were all so yummy. The green apple was probably the least favorite as it had very little green apple to the flavor.

Are these not SO precious? My good friend Jenny Tuley made them and sadly I never got to taste one, but I heard they were delicious. I am all about details so I love the little balloon "string".

The punches were the perfect combination of sweet and tart. The Blue Pop Punch exceeded my expectations in taste and presentation, and the Popping Strawberry Lemonade was simply pureed frozen strawberries (with a little sugar) added to crystal light lemonade.

Overall, it was the perfect combination of sweet and salty light snacks. Everyone loved trying the different popcorn. It was such a fun change from the traditional shower!

Next...Decorations! Check out the invite and link to the party inspiration on Part 1.
